If you are curious about when the next pixel telephone design is, Google gave us a clear answer. In an interview with Bloomberg, Ivy Ross, the company design manager, confirmed that there is a big visual change. It will come every 2-3 years.
It makes sense to look back. Pixels 6, 7 and 8 are all shared with a similar design language with the curved edges and the rap Around camera bar. Pixel 9 and Pixels 10 Move to a flat edge and no longer extend throughout the entire while the bar remains. Based on this, I’m not sure if Pixel 11 will introduce a new design or wait for Pixel 12.
Ross added that Google has already completed the 2026 lineup and started its initial work on the 2027 phone. In other words, major visual updates are not guaranteed every year. Instead, the pixel telephone design cycle provides time to conquer more time before the company moves to the direction.
Google says that real evolution is happening in software. Updates for Gemini AI function, harder device integration and watch, earbird and folds are the most changing pixels. Hardware continues to develop, but it does not cover every year.
Therefore, Pixel 11 suggests that the new design language can be waited by Pixel 12, but history can be maintained.
